TEMECULA: NFL Greats to Help with Temecula Theatre Fund-Raiser

Pauma_Valley_GolfTwenty-one NFL greats – including seven Hall of Fame players and a Heisman Trophy winner – will be joining local residents and business people on April 9-11, 2016 to help raise funds for the Temecula Theatre Foundation.

Sponsors, celebrities and invited guests will enjoy cocktails, dinner, auctions and music at the Welcome Gala held at Harrah’s Resort & Casino on Saturday, April 9. Michael Israel – described as “Cirque du Soleil meets Picasso” — will demonstrate his “art in motion”, a unique painting exhibition that has been electrifying audiences around the world.

On Sunday, there will be wine-tasting at Europa Village, a “Master’s Golf Watch” party, and a pool party at Harrah’s Resort & Casino.

Harrah's ResortOn Monday, guests will enjoy a day of golf with NFL players in each group at the Pauma Valley Country Club. Prizes and Awards Presentation will follow tournament play.

NFL Hall of Fame legends include: Charlie Joiner, James Lofton, Bobby Bell, Kellen Winslow, Tom Mack, Mike Haynes and Dermontti Dawson.

Participating NFL players include Mark May of the Redskins; Louis Lipps of the Steelers; Rolf Benirschke, Hank Bauer, and Benny Ricardo of the Chargers; Dwight Hicks and Eric Wright of the 49’ers, Jim Thornton of the Bears, Rod Martin of the Raiders, Brad Daliuiso of the Giants, Isaac Curtis and Jim Weatherley.

Actor Richard Tyson will also be lending his support.

Guests will enjoy special rates at Harrah’s Resort. Golfers will receive gift bags, team photos, autographed footballs, tickets to Friday’s Welcome Gala and Monday’s Awards Ceremony.

Michael Israel artThe Theatre Foundation was established in 1999 to advance the performing arts and serves more than 4,000 students each year through their ArtsConnection Program. Over the past five years, the Theatre Foundation has provided over $460,000 to resident companies presenting productions in the local area. The Foundation fully funded a $1,000,000 capital campaign to build the Old Town Temecula Community Theatre. They also purchased a wirless microphone system, concert shell and risers, and a fully restored 1901 Steinway Model O Baby grand piano for “The Merc”.

In addition to ArtsConnection, the Foundation supports The Southwest Women’s Chorus, The Temecula Valley Players, and fantheater.com.

    Odd that the funds are supposed to go to the Temecula Theater but the fundraiser is being held in San Diego county.

    Not really odd, Joe Ama. The theater has had this tournament for years in Las Vegas. Pauma Valley is the back yard to Temecula and serves the same communities and donor bases as the theater.
