Hemet: Police arrest probationer suspected of stealing items from construction site

A probationer suspected of stealing items at the construction site of a new business in Hemet while dressed as an employee was arrested early today.

Security guards called 911 at 5:11 a.m. after watching a live feed of the suspect walking around the site in the 3700 block of West Florida Avenue, the Hemet Police Department reported.

The suspect, Clinton Daigle, of Norco, bolted when officers arrived and left the items he allegedly stole. Daigle was arrested following a struggle with officers and a police dog, police reported.

Daigle allegedly used a stolen ID card while in custody. It was returned to its owner, police said.
