Man Shot After Argument at Lake Elsinore Property

LAKE ELSINORE – An investigation was underway today into a shooting in Lake Elsinore residence that left a 34-year-old man seriously injured.

Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. John Monarrez said deputies were called to the 32000 block of Rome Hill Road about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

”The victim had apparently been involved in an argument with one or two individuals at a nearby residence, and he was struck by gunfire as he was walking away,” Monarrez said.

The wounded man gave ”conflicting statements” about the shooter and where he went, the sergeant said. Deputies scoured the area but did not find anyone, he said.

The victim underwent surgery for multiple gunshot wounds and was listed in stable condition, according to Monarrez.

Anyone with information about the attack was asked to call the sheriff’s Lake Elsinore station at (951) 245-3300
