Three arrested for burlary in Canyon Lake

CANYON LAKE – (SHERIFF PRESS RELEASE) On December 4, 2012, around 8 AM, a Canyon Lake police officer investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Vacation Drive and Longhorn Drive in Canyon Lake. The officer located the vehicle, a white Ford F-150, and recognized one of the passengers as 20-year-old Rodney “Cameron” Rice. The officer searched Rice and the vehicle based on terms of Rice’s probation. The officer located several items in the truck that he believed to be stolen. He had a second officer respond to a burglary call that was pending a short distance away. Through their investigation, they learned that many of the items in the truck were stolen in the burglary; the property they recovered was worth approximately $1,000.

Investigators from the Perris Station responded out and assisted the officers. Further investigation connected other property in the truck to two other burglaries. The driver of the truck, 19-year-old Dylan Shubin from Menifee, 31-year-old Crystal Alford from Canyon Lake, and Rice (from Canyon Lake) were arrested for possession of stolen property. Shubin was additionally charged with committing a felony while out on bail. Rice was additionally charged with violating his probation and a gang enhancement.
