TEMECULA – The Boy Scouts of America selected Jerry Konchar as the 2017 Distinguished Citizen of the Year.

The Boy Scouts selected Konchar, a community leader who currently serves as Past Chairman of the Temecula Chamber of Commerce, for embodying the Boy Scout core values of giving back to the community.

“I am deeply humbled to be named Citizen of the Year among so many other great community leaders,” Konchar said.

Konchar previously served nine years as a board of director for the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce and many other community organizations. Originally from Ohio, Konchar spent 15 years on the Canton Chamber of Commerce board and various school boards before moving to Temecula.

Konchar will be honored Thursday, Sept. 28, at Pechanga Resort & Casino.
