You may be a 20-year-old college student or 75-years-old and retired, but no matter your age The Studio in Temecula has Pilates classes for all ages and levels.
“We can design a class for you,” said Janice Wessels, owner of The Studio.
Although The Studio primarily teaches Pilates, it also teaches yoga and spinning. Thirty minute spinning classes are available for $5 as well as yoga for $5 at 6 p.m. on Tuesday nights.
The relocated studio opened on Monday, Jan. 27, and a grand opening celebration will take place this Saturday, Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The grand opening will offer discounted memberships, Pilates TRX demos, and several vendors will be present. Every new client gets a complimentary private class.
At The Studio every class has a personal trainer, either in private training or in a small group of 4-7 people.
“We’re very much about offering quality here versus quantity,” Wessels said.
At The Studio, Pilates is offered on the reformers, which helps with adding strength training into a workout. Core strength is the main focus of Pilates exercises.
“Your trunk is your foundation,” says Wessels.
There are many benefits to doing Pilates, including eliminating backaches as well as increasing your flexibility, balance and control.
“You’re simply going to feel better in your day to day living,” Wessels said. Especially since a lot of people sit in front of the computer on a daily basis. If you position yourself into a better posture, “it’s going to make you feel better.”
As with any exercise program, emotional benefits can be taken from it as well, especially if it is combined with a healthy diet.
Wessels found Pilates in her 40s, saying, “It was the best thing I ever did for myself, physically.” She said one of the reasons she enjoys having this business is because she enjoys bringing happiness to other people and to help make them feel better, through fitness and nutrition.
With the new studio location Wessels is bringing in more specialized services.
One of the trainers at The Studio is trained in holistic nutrition – this will teach people how have a healthy lifestyle with proper eating habits, meaning no crash diets. Clients can now choose to attend nutritional classes or have a nutritional coach.
“We are not about crash diets,” Wessels said. “Everyone here is about healthy living.”
The original studio opened three years ago and it has been growing and expanding ever since.
Wessels describes The Studio as warm and inviting and that it is not a competitive environment.
“The people that work here are a fantastic group of people. We’ve attracted a phenomenal cliental base,” she said.
The new location features more equipment for Pilates, which will help to accommodate more clients. The Studio’s new location is 32909 Temecula Parkway, Unit 103.
