Murrieta Students of the Month honored

MURRIETA – On March 7, the Murrieta Valley Chamber of Commerce High School Student of the Month Recognition Program was held and five students were recognized. 

Emily Olson, Vista Murrieta High School

Emily is ASB President this year and she has been involved in student leadership all four years in high school. Emily maintains a 4.4 GPA and is ranked ninth in her class. Emily has been in track and cross country since her freshman year. While Emily has applied to the University of Chicago, Westmont and Baylor, she has not yet selected the college she will attend. She is interested in pursuing a career in law. 


Shane Murray-Staton, Murrieta Mesa High School

Shane is a strong student who has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school. Shane has excelled in Murrieta Mesa’s Medical Pathway classes and he hopes to attend UCLA.  He wants to become a doctor specializing in Physical Therapy. Shane has participated in varsity track and field and basketball for four years. He is a role model on campus and is known for his integrity and his sense of duty and purpose. 

Nathan Lundberg, Oak Grove

Nathan is a great student who has made remarkable progress at Oak Grove. He has done well academically and is a leader and mentor to other students on campus. Nathan loves his job at Dogtopia. Following graduation he plans to attend community college and his goal is to become a firefighter. 


Kevin Laurel, Creekside High School

Kevin is good student who is a leader on campus. Kevin has been a member of the school’s Student Council. His future plans include attending Mount San Jacinto College and transferring to a university. He is interested in pursuing a career in medicine. 


Sarah Romano, Murrieta Valley High School

Sarah is an honor student who is ASB President this year. She has been involved in student leadership all four years in high school. Sarah is also captain of the varsity soccer team and a member of Link Crew. Sarah hopes to attend USC and study political science. She would like to serve as an intern in Washington D.C. Sarah is known for her integrity and positive energy.
