Industry basics for parents, kids

Through Musicians Workshop, actor and singer/songwriter Skyler Day, star of the movie “Adventures of Ociee Nash,” is offering a workshop on industry basics for parents and kids Oct. 25 at the Temecula Valley Cultural Arts & Music Center at 27455 Tierra Alta Way, #F.

The parents’ workshop will include topics such as headshot suggestions, structuring a résumé, managers and agents, helpful Web sites, what to do before a child has an agent, acting styles and differences and parental dos and don’ts.

The kids’ workshop will include auditioning dos and don’ts, proper slating, scene study, preparing for audition, different acting styles and scene video critiquing.

Cost is $100, which includes registration for parents and one child (additional $50 for a second child, $40 for a third). Pre-registration must be done before Oct. 22 to assure a spot.
