The classic rock and metal band Shotgun Wedding had its first show ever Sept. 14 at the Winchester Inn.
“I think everything went really well,” said manager C.J. Wallinder, who also sings in Shotgun Wedding.
Wallinder noted that approximately 100 people were in the audience.
“We had quite a few people,” she said.
Wallinder’s husband, Brian, is the lead singer. The Wallinder family moved from Orange County to Hemet in 2000. Drummer Rick Van Dyke and bass guitar player Johnny Phelps also live in Hemet, while guitar player Robert Bacca lives in Pomona.
Shotgun Wedding is the first band for C.J. and Brian Wallinder. Phelps has been in a band called Satellite, Bacca was with Chump Change, and Van Dyke was in various bands in Hollywood.
Shotgun Wedding was formed about three months ago.
“It’s going very well,” C.J. Wallinder said.
Wallinder once managed the Winchester Inn bar. Phelps had played at the Winchester Inn with a previous band and made the arrangements for Shotgun Wedding to play there.
“They asked us to come back again,” Wallinder said.
Shotgun Wedding will return to the Winchester Inn for an Oct. 12 performance.
“I think we’re going to do good things,” Wallinder said.
