‘Tom Sawyer’ to take the stage April 10

TEMECULA – Spend a sultry day near the banks of the Mississippi with the Temecula Valley Players and the characters of Tom Sawyer, An American Legend with Music.

Written by Dave Barton and Matt Bond, this classic story is based on the novel written by Mark Twain following the antics of Tom Sawyer (Nicholas Hermesman) and his friend Huck Fin (Cole

Harvey).

As the story begins, Tom meets the new kid in town, Jeff Thatcher (Andrew Shroll) and is immediately smitten by Jeff’s sister Becky (Emily Ramos). Tom manages to get himself into mischief that he could get away with if it wasn’t for his little brother Sid (Matthew Peterson) constantly tattling on him.

The artistic team, Director Terri Miller Schmidt, Musical Director David Reuther and Choreographer Kelly Rose-Mund, have brought the flavor of the south in the 1840’s to life. It is fun for the whole family as the characters sing and dance their way into your hearts.

Performances are April 10-20 Thurs., Fri., Sat. at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater (42051 Main St.).
