MURRIETA – Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez, the Murrieta Firefighters Association, and ‘Be The Match’ will be gathering to host a special event to help save lives.
On May 9, from 12 to 4 p.m., if you are between the ages of 18 and 44, join the national ‘Be The Match’ marrow donor registry by getting a simple cheek swab.
For thousands with blood cancers like leukemia or other diseases such as sickle cell anemia, a marrow transplant is their only hope for life. Because a match is more likely to exist between people who share the same heritage, donors with diverse ancestry are especially needed.
The event will be held at the office of Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez – 41391 Kalmia St., Suite 220 in Murrieta.
Assemblywoman Melendez and the Murrieta Firefighters Association will provide lunch as a “thank you” for your participation.
