MURRIETA – Local cancer survivors and their caregivers will take the celebratory first lap at the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Murrieta May 20 and 21 at Murrieta Mesa High School. The opening ceremony and survivors lap will begin at 9 a.m.
Anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers are encouraged to join the celebration. As the survivors walk, other participants will cheer them on in a demonstration of support and celebration. After the survivors and their caregivers make their first lap to kick off the celebration, they will be served breakfast and receive goodie bags from the participating teams.
Relay for Life of Murrieta is a community event for teams and individuals to come together to honor, celebrate and raise funds and awareness of the fight against cancer. Money raised will help the American Cancer Society provide free information and support for people facing the disease and fund cancer research that will help protect future generations.
The Murrieta community of businesses, families, students and friends have been coming together for more than 10 years in the fight against cancer and to support American Cancer Society because they provide education, advocacy and services for those in need.
