‘Tomato Queen’ comes to Temecula March 20

TEMECULA – The Temecula Valley Rose Society will meet on Thursday, March 20 from 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Temecula Public Library Community Room at 30600 Pauba Road, Temecula.

Karen Cooper Greenwald, a San Diego master gardener and a Point Loma Garden Club member will give a presentation on heirloom tomatoes. For the past 8 years Greenwald has started from seeds, growing over 1,000 four-inch heirloom tomato plants.

Greenwald has gathered these seeds from England, France, Spain, Croatia and Bosnia and continues to be an avid recycler, composter and organic gardener. She was officially crowned “The Tomato Queen” by the Point Loma Garden Club six years ago.

The public is welcome. There is no admission charge. A light luncheon is available after the meeting.
