After one-day respite, Inland Empire gasoline price back above $4

RIVERSIDE – The average price of gasoline in the Inland Empire was less than $4 for just one day, rising seven-tenths of a cent today to $4.003 for a gallon of self-serve regular.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is a half-cent more than one week ago and 15.6 cents higher than one month ago, but 8.8 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

Despite the rising prices, drivers “should easily be able to find stations with prices under $4 a gallon,” according to Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
