TEMECULA – A fire in a mobile home near Temecula today caused major damage but no injuries.
The blaze was reported about 2:45 p.m. in the 37000 block of Songbird Drive, near Remuda Drive, in an unincorporated area just northeast of Temecula, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
An agency spokeswoman said six engine crews with about two dozen personnel, were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in half of the doublewide trailer.
Firefighters completely contained the fire within 20 minutes, but two rooms were destroyed, and there was “smoke and heat damage throughout the residence,” according to a fire department statement.
There was no word on whether anyone was displaced.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
