Canyon Lake man on meth suspected of driving vehicle stolen from Temecula with license plates stolen from Menifee

FRENCH VALLEY – A Canyon Lake man suspected of driving a stolen vehicle with stolen plates was behind bars today.

Trevor White, 28, was arrested at 8:35 a.m. Sunday near Van Goyen Lane and Gabriel Metsu Street in the unincorporated area of French Valley. A caller reported a ”suspicious person” sleeping or passed out in a vehicle who wasn’t a known resident, sheriff’s Sgt. Jon Wade said.

A deputy found White in the parked Ford Expedition. He allegedly gave a fake name and date of birth and was under the influence of methamphetamine, Wade said.

The vehicle was reported stolen in Temecula last Wednesday, the rear license plate was stolen from a vehicle in Menifee on Saturday, and the front license plate was stolen from a vehicle in Menifee last Wednesday, Wade said.

White, who was on probation for theft and narcotics violations, was booked into the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta.

He was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail and was expected to be arraigned Thursday at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta, according to jail records.
