TEMECULA – ‘CLOUD,’ a Temecula-based pop-rock band named “one of the hottest acts on the planet” by Music Connection Magazine, will be part of the lineup at the 4th annual New Year’s Eve Grape Drop Countdown in Old Town Temecula on December 31.
The free event at Temecula Town Square Park will include two countdowns: one at 9 p.m. for the East Coast and another at midnight for the West Coast.
The live entertainment will kick off with the John Hess Brass Band at 4:30 p.m. The Silver Beatles (a Beatles tribute band) will follow at 6 p.m., while San Diego’s surf band Safety Orange will play at 8:15 p.m. to ring in the New Year for the East Coast.
CLOUD will headline the night’s live show, starting at 10:30 p.m. and ring in the West Coast New Year at midnight. The event’s promoters have partnered with “First Night USA” to host a variety of activities for all ages. From 3 to 5 p.m. the Civic Center will host a free party-hat making activity, in which participants will be given a hat to decorate with glitter and glue to wear in a New Year’s Eve procession.
Pony rides, face painting and other children’s activities will also be available throughout the day. It’s all designed for family friendly fun.
Adding to the festivities will be an illuminated grape cluster (seven feet wide and twelve feet long) that will descend to count down the New Year from Temecula’s City Hall. The cluster symbolizes the Temecula Valley Wine Country. There will be heaters set up around the quad for warmth and people can either bring picnic baskets or eat at one of the many restaurants that will stay open late. The Town Square’s ice skating rink will be open until 1:30 a.m.
This is a family friendly event.
Temecula Town Square Park is located at 41902 Main Street, Temecula.
