College classes cancelled at San Jacinto and San Gorgonio MSJC campuses

SAN JACINTO – Mt. San Jacinto College San Jacinto and San Gorgonio Pass campuses were closed to students and the public on Thursday, May 1 due to high winds. MSJC has cancelled classes and closed the campuses to ensure safety of students and visitors.

MSJC officials will continue to monitor weather and safety conditions. MSJC Alert text messages and e-mails will be sent to those who have provided updated information via Eagle Advisor. Information will also be posted on the college web site and Facebook page about the status of the San Jacinto & Pass campuses as soon as it comes available.

Road closures and weather can be found at their respective websites – www.dot.ca.gov/cgi-bin/roads.cgi and www.weather.gov – prior to leaving to determine current conditions and the best route of travel.

This week’s strong wind event, which began Tuesday, prompted the closure of Mt. San Jacinto College on Wednesday. College administrators said they wanted to keep students off area roadways, which were swept by blowing sand and debris.

MSJC’s Menifee and Temecula locations remain open.
