Faulty transformer causes power outage in Sun City

A faulty transformer caused an overnight power outage that affected 120 residents in a subdivision east of the Interstate 215 in Sun City, a spokesman said today.

The disruption was reported at 9:36 p.m. Saturday on Moonridge Drive near Cactus Flower Drive. The outage was a mile east of the 215 Freeway and near Menifee Valley Medical Center, according to Southern California Edison.

An estimated time of restoration was uncertain, but work crews were at the scene correcting the problem the single circuit, SCE spokesman Robert Villegas said.
