Flood advisory issued for Inland Empire

The National Weather Service for Riverside County, San Bernardino County, the Riverside County Mountains and the Inland Empire has issued a flood advisory.

An urban and small stream flooding advisory remains in effect until 2:30 p.m. this afternoon for Central Riverside County.

Showers and thunderstorms blanketed the county from Palm Springs to Temecula at 12:14 this afternoon. These storms are capable to produce brief rainfall with localized flooding. The flooding can lead to rocks falling or mud slides across mountain highways.

Travelers are asked to take precautionary measures.

The excessive runoff from heavy rainfall can cause elevated levels of small creeks and streams on country roads and farmland to overflow.
