Grassfire Near Perris Grows to 10 Acres, 50 Percent Contained

GOOD HOPE – A slowly-moving grassfire charred 10 acres today near Perris and forced the evacuation of recreational shooters, a county fire spokeswoman said.

Dispatchers received a 911 call at 1:38 p.m. about the fire, which initially blackened three acres of brush. It was reported burning slowly at Christmas Tree Lane and Santa Rosa Mine Road in Good Hope, between Perris and Lake Mathews, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.
