HEMET — City of Riverside police officials arrested a Hemet resident and known sex offender while serving a warrant at his residence Thursday, June 8. Officials allege the man committed “numerous sexual assaults on several children,” over the last fourteen years.

35-year-old Hemet resident, Tyrone Sanchez was arrested during an investigation that involved multiple alleged victims.

The alleged crimes happened “between the years of 2003 to 2017,” Riverside police officials said in a social media press release.

Officials identified the alleged suspect as 35-year-old, Hemet resident, Tyrone Sanchez.

In spite of the multiple juveniles that officials have already located and identified as victims, due to Sanchez’ “personable nature,” authorities fear he may have victimized additional, “unreported victims.”

Sanchez was arrested at his home in the 300 block of N. Palm Avenue in Hemet.

Detectives from the Riverside Police Department’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit served the search warrant at Sanchez’ home as part of “an ongoing investigation into lewd acts against a child,” officials said.

Authorities obtained the search warrant after their investigation determined Sanchez “was associated with … numerous sexual assaults on several children.”

After his arrest Sanchez was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on seven sex-crime related felony charges. He was also booked for four traffic-related misdemeanors.

Sanchez’ current charges include suspicion of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 14, oral copulation with a child under 10-years-old, committing sexual related crimes after being convicted of the same and four counts of committing sex crimes with multiple victims.

Sanchez remains in custody with bail set at $1.5 million dollars. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the Riverside Hall of Justice June 12.

Because officials believe Sanchez may have additional victims, authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying any other children who were potentially victimized by Sanchez.

Due to the fact that victims have been identified in Riverside and Sanchez lives in Hemet, officials are asking parents of both areas who believe their child may have been victimized to immediately contact Detective Karla Beler at (951) 353-7125 or by e-mail.
