Jurupa Valley: Two men arrested after discovery of small marijuana grow at their apartment

A gang task force associated with the Jurupa Valley Police Department arrested two El Cerrito men Friday after a compliance search of their residence recovered 90 marijuana plants as well as evidence that indicated the narcotic was being sold.

The Greater Corona/Norco/Home Gardens Regional Gang Task Force was conducting a probation search of an apartment when they came across the plants and additional paraphernalia, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s report.

The apartment’s residents Gordon Sutton, 51, and Ryan Sutton, 24, were subsequently arrested on charges related to the cultivation and sale of marijuana. They were then transported to Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside for booking, Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Manning said in the report.

County jail records indicated that both of the two men remained jailed Saturday, with each of their bails set at $25,000.

Anyone with additional information on this crime is encouraged to contact the Riverside County Gang Task Force Commander, Sergeant Paul Mercado at (951)-736-2380.
