LAKE ELSINORE: Man injured after falling from waterfall in nearby mountains

LAKE ELSINORE – A man was injured today and required helicopter extraction after he fell from a waterfall in a remote area southwest of Lake Elsinore.

The injury happened at 10:54 a.m. at Tenaja Falls, a recreation area in the Ortega Mountains, according to Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.

The man fell about 30 feet from the waterfall and sustained moderate injuries, she said.

A Riverside County Fire helicopter flew the man from the scene to an awaiting ground ambulance, which transported him to a hospital.
