Lightning strikes home in Murrieta

MURRIETA – A two-story home west of Murrieta was struck by lightning today, leaving a six-inch hole in the roof, but no one was hurt.

The bolt struck the home at 39605 Vista Del Bosque, in the La Cresta area, just before 8 a.m., said Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.

The strike, which occurred as a mild wet-weather system passed through the area, did not cause a fire, Hagemann said.

"as a mild wet-weather system" thunder, lighting, and rain that came down in torrents. I would hate to see a harsh weather system. By the way my little dog agrees with me, he is still hiding under the bed.
