Magnitude 2.5 earthquake strikes 10 miles northeast of Riverside

A magnitude 2.5 earthquake rocked the Inland Empire today, according to automated seismograph reports.

The preliminary report placed the epicenter of the 2:20 p.m. quake about three miles southeast of Loma Linda, or about 10 miles east-northeast of Riverside.

The preliminary report was generated by automated seismographs and computers, and had not been reviewed by scientists.

Three people reported feeling the quake as minor shaking to a USGS response page.
