Man arrested in arson and attempted murder investigation

CANYON LAKE – A man wanted in an arson and attempted murder investigation was arrested Friday, April 14, in Canyon Lake, authorities said.

Detectives from the Canyon Lake Police Department served a search warrant at a home in the 28000 block of Yosemite Place around 1:30 p.m., said Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Glenn Williams.

Detectives seized several firearms from the residence, as well as a cache of ammunition, Williams said. Firearms registered to the suspect also were seized at an address in Placentia, Williams added.

Police arrested 44-year-old David Harry without incident as a result of the search warrant’s findings, William said. Harry was booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of attempted murder and was being held without bail, he said.

The original incident Harry was investigated for occurred around 8:20 p.m. Saturday in the 22000 block of Giant Fir in Canyon Lake, Williams said.

Details of the crime were not immediately available.
