MENIFEE – The city of Menifee announced the hiring of Jonathan Nicks who will be joining the city of Menifee’s leadership team as the incoming community services director. Nicks joins Menifee with close to 20 years of local government experience, having most recently served as the deputy director of Orange County Parks and Community Services.
“I am thrilled to begin working with the city of Menifee team,” Nicks said. “With Menifee being a relatively new city, I see great opportunities to make an impact in the organization and within the community as the city continues to grow and develop.”
Before his tenure with Orange County, Nicks worked in the city of Placentia as the director of community services and also served as the executive director of the Placentia Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for local community programs.
Nicks has extensive experience in community service operations, capital project management, contract administration, grant administration, public outreach, recreation, cultural arts and social services. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in public administration from California State University Long Beach, a bachelor’s degree in English from California State University Fullerton and is an active member of the National Parks and Recreation Association, American Public Works Association and California Parks and Recreation Society. During his free time, Nicks enjoys traveling, Dodgers baseball, movies and, most of all, spending time with his wife and two children.
