Motorcycle accident in Murrieta leaves two injured

A two-vehicle crash on Whitewood, at Avenida Acacias just south of Los Alamos Road, was reported shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash involved a Harley Davidson motorcycle, carrying a male and a female, and a red Ford Mustang.

Murrieta fire Capt. Matt Corelli also released a statement regarding the accident, “A motorcycle with two riders was traveling southbound on Whitewood just south of Los Alamos when in an attempt to avoid a collision, became separated from the motorcycle throwing the two riders from the motorcycle. A male in his mid twenties was the driver and a female passenger in her twenties were treated and transported to Inland Valley Regional Medical Center. The male had moderate injuries and the female had a severe injury to her lower extremity.”

An off-duty firefighter was among the first on scene and applied a makeshift tourniquet to the woman’s leg, one witness said.

The updated condition of the male and female riders has yet to be officially released and the Valley News will update this information as it becomes available.
