WILDOMAR – A motorist veered off a Wildomar roadway and barreled 300 feet down into a ravine where the driver’s pickup truck plowed into a concrete border, a sergeant said today.
The driver of the 2003 Chevrolet pickup was traveling north on Monte Vista Drive early Saturday when the vehicle veered to the right and headed into the ravine as it approached Bundy Canyon Road, Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Linda Maria Hughes said.
The truck hit a concrete border about 300 feet onto Bundy Canyon Road, leaving the driver with major injuries. The crash was reported at 3:23 a.m., Hughes said.
The driver was taken to a hospital. The intersection was shut off to traffic overnight but reopened at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Hughes said.
