Murrieta officials told plans to use city as a processing center for illegal immigrants rescinded

Plans to use California’s Border Patrol stations in San Diego and Murrieta as processing centers for hundreds of aliens, mostly children, pouring into the United States through Texas and Arizona has been curbed.

Local law enforcement, city and state leaders have been educating officials with Customs Border Patrol on the limited resources available and the risks involving public safety.

“We don’t have the infrastructure and support to handle hundreds of illegal immigrants,” said Murrieta’s Police Captain Rob Firmes. “It would make them transients which mean homelessness, putting at risk the safety of our citizens.”

Firmes said twice in June the city was warned that undocumented immigrants would be arriving and twice it was rescinded. On Monday, June 23 around 4:00 p.m., Firmes said he received another call from the CBP stating plans to send the aliens to San Diego and Murrieta will not happen and the immigrants will be processed at various centers throughout Texas.

“We are monitoring this situation closely. The CBP could reverse their decision at any time,” said Firmes.

It has been reported by the CBP more than 52,000 unaccompanied youths have been detained along the Southwest border, double the amount from last year. The surge is fueled by false rumors that minors and women with young children will be welcomed.

Temecula’s Senior Management Analyst, Betsy Lowrey, said city officials have been in communications with Congressional representatives and Murrieta officials to determine accurate information regarding Border Patrol plans for transporting/processing illegal immigrants at the Murrieta Border Patrol Station.

Lowery wrote in an email to the Valley News, Congressman Ken Calvert’s Communication Director also received information from the CBP office in San Diego Monday, June 23.

Rep. Calvert clearly addressed his outraged following statement in response to an announcement by Paul Beeson, chief of the Border Patrol’s San Diego Sector, that detained illegal immigrants from Central America will likely be processed at the Murrieta Border Patrol Station as soon as next week.

Calvert questions in the press release how taxpayer’s money is being used to fly undocumented children around the country, “My constituents expect our federal government to enforce our laws, including the deportation of illegal immigrants caught crossing our borders. On Monday morning, I will be contacting Customs and Border Patrol to convey my strong opposition to their actions and to express the concerns of my constituents in Murrieta and the surrounding communities. Instead of flying these illegal immigrants to southern California, we should be flying them back to their country of origin.”

Calvert’s entire press release can be read here:

Last week, Rep. Calvert signed on as a cosponsor to H.Res. 442, the Stop This Overreaching Presidency Resolution, which directs the House to institute legal action to require the President to comply with immigration laws.

In 1996, Rep. Calvert created E-Verify, a web-based program that checks the Social Security numbers or alien identification numbers of new hires against Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security records in order to eliminate fraudulent numbers and help ensure that new hires are eligible to work in the U.S. The program is free to use and quickly confirms 99.7% of work-eligible employees. Today, over 500,000 American employers voluntarily use E-Verify.

Marie Waldron who represents California’s 75th Assembly District, which stretches from Temecula to San Marcos, and includes the communities of Bonsall, Escondido, Fallbrook, Hidden Meadows, Rainbow, Valley Center, and Vista accuses the federal government in being derelict in its duty to the people of the United States through its failure to secure the borders.

Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson released a statement today to address this situation,

“Our strategy is three-fold: (1) process the increased tide of unaccompanied children through the system as quickly as possible; (2) stem the increased tide of illegal migration into the Rio Grande Valley; and (3) do these things in a manner consistent with our laws and values as Americans.”

Although plans to process hundreds of aliens at the San Diego and Murrieta border patrol stations have been halted Firmes said local law enforcement are on standby for the CBP to reverse their current ruling.

I’m glad they’re not coming to Murrieta, but the fact that the U.S. continues to allow illegals in by the thousands, including known gang members and those with communicable diseases is astonishing…and how about terrorists? All these people streaming in and our immigration officals don’t know who there are. Meanwhile, they continue to stop commuters on 1-15 just south of Temecula and feel up grandma at the airport. Comical waste of taxpayer dollars.

Ok Sniff, are you still going to deny Concealed Carry? I voted for you until I read about your dumb stance on concealed carry. You are a sheriff in name only.

Regardless of what immigration policy anyone believes in, our Government cannot carry out that policy until after it has first gained control of the borders. Regardless of what Washington politicians may say about how many immigrants should be allowed into the country, or on what basis, none of that matters when the real decision is in the hands of indiiferent illegal aliens, who can simply climb over a fence along the border and come on in whenever they feel like it.

I believe this is a softening of America. This is a new generation who will get the right to vote Democrat and keep liberal views foremost in this country. There is no way that any country in the world including Mexico itself that would ever allow this human attack on their country. I am in complete distrust of our federal government and their motives.

US can’t even take care of their own, let alone all the illegals…free medical, free education, free food, free welfare, no taxes paid into the system from people like this, they don’t have to ever work…free democratic votes is all this means.

  8. grunt   June 25, 2014 at 3:51 pm

Remember when "we" let illegals stay if their kid was an anchor baby because "we do not split up families" (even though the deportees could have taken their kids)? Why now do "we" allow kids to come here – is that not splitting up the family? Or, once they are here can their families come? Then what is a family? Just Mom and dad, sister and brother or can Mon and Dad

All your greedy comments make me sick. Maybe this is why America makes no progress, because nobody is willing to help other people. Why? Well because this world is now full of jealousy and hatred towards each other and I’m tired of seeing the same things over and over again

This ia an Obozo created crisis to pass shamnesty without the approval of congress andthe American people. Scandal after scandal, this one the American people will say "enough" and revolt against our government. We are being invaded without a shot being fired and it`s time we as a nation rise up against this "bozo" and take back our country.

Rainbow Teen: being young, living with your parents, where d you think the money comes from to pay for all this? Would you give up your IPhone, car and fancy clothes to pay for these children? Well you already have, each adult today has a debt of $11.000 for the cost of illegal immigration for the last decade. I do appreciate your youthful ideals but your approaching adulthood where you become rersponsible for yourself, student loans, bleek employment outlook in your future, are you willing to sacrafice your future for theirs?

Let`s face it, eliminate all the politically correctness and talk truth.these people (millions)will not amount to much, they leave their country of poverty and opression and bring it here to this country further draining our social safety nets and penal systems, where does it end?

Our immigration works fine, it`s designed to allow a certain number of immigrants to enter, allow them to assimilate and the nation to compensate, than it allows more and the process continues. Take 12+ million, more arriving every day and what you have is chaos.

Our health safety net in regards to immigration are being ignored allowing once defeated diseases to make a comeback, TB, whooping cough and a host of other deseases are now common place.

In closing Rainbow Teen, reality is a concept that can be cruel sometimes but reality states, these nation states "must" care for it`s own people instead of pawning them off on the American taxpayer.

    Well said Ray!!!

  13. Ray (the real one)   June 26, 2014 at 10:24 am

According to news stories brom bothe liberal and conservative media outlets, the reasons given for these immigrant children illegally coming to this country are "gangs", "violence" and "poverty".

Ever been to your local neighborhood barrio? what`s the difference? Hispanic gangs rule our communities, poverty runs rampant, daily especially in Vista, Astera flies over the West Los Angeles area like South Central, what is the difference between Mexico, Colombia or Honduras and Some areas in San Diego County, Fallbrook, a good example?

I do appreciate Raindow Teen and her youthful outlook on the future, I once shared her excitement but being an older person who experienced life saw once well meaning programs like welfare distorted causing a entire group of people slaves to government handouts decade after decade.

An amendment to our constitution allowing free slaves after the civil war to become citizens, today it`s perverted into cross the border, give birth, get a check, instant citizenship. More people should read the 14th amendment in the spirit in which it was written.

Someone once said, if a nation can`t control it`s borders it`s not a nation, loo at Iraq, Seria, Afganastan, Pakastan and now the United States.

The people have the say on immigration and our president "MUST" respect the will of the people and act accordingly under the law of the land, illegal immigration is illegal thus tjhe word illegal. I know most bleeding hearts will say, it`s not a crime, I agree on the "first" unlawful entry not multiple times, than it becomes a crime.

I agree, the problem with illegal immigration needs to be addressed but the needs of the country and it`s citizens need to be taken into account, not the needs of a party or an electorate.

Maybe that is why people by a wide margin "reject" immigration reform especially under the Obozo administration.

This might sound cold, hatless cruel but I say, no rewards for illegal behavior or acts, deport.

  14. Ray (the real one)   June 26, 2014 at 11:51 am

    What a scam.

    See what I mean folks.

I loved the one about MS 13, they already occupy Fallbrook, what is the difference?

  15. grunt   June 26, 2014 at 11:53 am

@teen – Before you slam America for not "helping anyone" would you care to check with government gives more to other countries? Care to check which people give more to charities? American and Americans. Why, in the past, has America and Americans be able to? Our strong economy; but now with fewer and fewer Americans working, that generosity cannot continue. I am sure you hand out food to the homeless, but if your own family was hungry would you still? Of course not, you have to take care of your own first; the citizens of this country have to be taken care of first; overflowing borders hurts the country, hurts the culture (we are decreasing our expectations of schools due to so many ESL types) and hurts the economy (too much money going "home" and no staying here.

Thomas – thank you for "fact" – that is what I was trying to say 🙂

  20. MJ   June 27, 2014 at 4:05 pm

Maybe we should relocate all the illegals coming in to the US to Washington DC. Wonder how long it would take the government to change its tune.

  21. Greg   June 28, 2014 at 1:16 pm

Ray, I think that you should go to Central America and Mexico and live a little while before you start making poverty comparisons. I work with people who have immigrated from these countries and the stories I hear about the ability to prosper are depressing. Overall, many of the illegal immigrants have minimal education and low job skills, which makes them the perfect fit for many low-paying jobs in this country. The new immigration laws being proposed finally recognize the need for these workers in certain industries and proposes a legal means to have them enter the country, work, and eventually attain citizenship, adjusting the number of visas granted with the demands of certain industries: construction, hospitality, agriculture. Illegal immigrants do not qualify for welfare, but their children do, which can be debated. It can also be debated that this government gives away to much without asking for anything in return. There are thousands of citizens receiving welfare without any strings attached. They are basically in survival mode at the lowest level of society, without the stresses and strains of trying to get ahead by going to work each day. For some this is a preferred life style. There are also a number of people from the south who immigrate legally who are educated and ambitious who come to this country to work hard and prosper. They see no opportunity for themselves in their countries where corrupt governments and dysfunctional institutions stifle economic prosperity. The causes and continuation of these ineffective systems can also be debated. Regardless, America is viewed as a great country because it is seen as fair and that it rewards hard work and innovation. As long as that perception is kept in tack America will continue to prosper. There are always going to be those who try and take advantage of that, but the alternative of regressing to an intolerant society does not make any sense when you look back at how this country became what it is today.

  22. Preston   June 29, 2014 at 7:43 am

Regardless of how you feel about illegal immigration remember one thing:
A Nation that does not enforce their National laws will fail.
This is something Mexico and most other Countries understand much better than the United States.
The Constitution of the United States is the world’s longest surviving written charter of government and is the supreme law of America. It was written by intelligent people that had the insight to understand what would happen if the People allowed their Government to disregard the doctrine.
We the People are allowing our Government to trash the Constitution and for that, we will pay a tremendous price.

  23. Seriously   June 29, 2014 at 11:39 pm

i feel like Alice in Wonderland falling into a right winged heartless hole of hatred that i didnt see coming. Actually i was just trying to find out how to help in some way if unacompanied chiildren were coming to Riverside or San Bernardino or Orange County areas. I hear some of you worrying about the citizens in your area.. What about these kids.. who will protect them from traffickers.. where will they sleep who will feed them. i am stunned at your heartless responses. Its not the America i know and love… But its a very scary stone-hearted group of people.. How sad.. It is frightening that we are teaching our children to respond as most of you are to people in need.

  24. Seriously   June 29, 2014 at 11:40 pm

    Im not surprised!!!

  25. Seeing the Future   June 30, 2014 at 11:43 am

First and foremost….why do we reward people for breaking the law? If the United States wants to allow illegal immigration, then change the laws!

I am all for helping children. But what some fail to understand is that while we are proving extra funds, section 8, medical, food and paid college funds for those breaking the law….so many of our own U.S citizens children are not able to receive as many of these benefits as those who are breaking the law! Are we crazy?

Those parents that make their children cross the border illegally know exactly what the U.S will do. They know we will make provisions, so why not break the law? They know they will get (for free) benefits they could never get in Mexico.

Let’s take care of our homeless children who are here…who are citizens before we give those much needed fund to those breaking the law. Let’s provide those funds to U.S citizens high school grads who cannot afford to go to college. Let’s take care of our citizens who are not breaking the law and are much in need as those "illegal" immigrants who have made a mockery of our laws.

  26. Thomas S.   June 30, 2014 at 12:43 pm

Ask yourself why Immigration laws are the only laws that are discussed in terms of how to help people who break them. Like so many other Obama ploys, his immigration ploy is not meant to help the country, but to help Obama. This is all about getting the Hispanic vote this November.

  27. R the Actor   July 2, 2014 at 11:52 pm

Hey wait a minute…Are not these immigrants direct descendants of the of President Reagan Anti communist obsession and fix with Federal billions of dollars supporting corrupt murdering South American dictator governments ? Even when the CIA reported the village massacres, and rapes, and torture upon innocent villagers, and nationalists by the US supported and trained south american troops, the Reagan administration continued the fund with US taxpayer money.

Hmm… yet those same protesters are adorned with Communist Chinese and Vietnamese made apparels I bet… US citizens buy more stuff from communist nations than communists citizens can afford for themselves.

We did not see those Murrieta government staff members nor Murreita citizens protest Smithfield foods for selling out to communist China, but for a kid taking a short bus ride sightseeing freedom and democracy we did.
