Murrieta Valley Pop Warner Cheer sent four teams to the JAMZ Youth Nationals in Las Vegas Jan. 19-21, and all four came back winners. The program’s Pee Wee team, the Warhawks, placed first and brought home a National Championship title in 12U Show Cheer, Medium.
This is the second year in a row that coach Kati Spry has led her team to victory at this competition. The team includes Paige Andrews, Gracie Anolin, Chloe Clayton, Taylor Cromie, Kayli Echeverria, Leia Fonseca, Katelyn Hankins, Haley McQueen, Marlee Miller, Kaylin Ordonez, Kiana Ordonez, Chloe Patterson, Arianna Rodriguez, Bella Reyes, Valerie Rios, Bella Sanchezsoto, Nyiomi Smoke, Makayla Spry, Aubrie Vazquez, Veronica Velasquez, Kayla Welch and Judy Young; assistant coach Eileen Anolin; tumbling coach Trevor Andrews and team representative Coreen Cromie.
JAMZ Nationals is an annual invitation-only event. This year’s competition featured over 260 teams who earned the right to compete at various competitions throughout the western states. MVPW’s Seahawks and Thunderhawks both placed fourth in their divisions, and the Ballhawks took fifth. Signups for the 2018 season start March 1.
