Paraglider Dies After Striking Powerlines in San Jacinto

SAN JACINTO – A paraglider died today when he struck active power lines on a mountainside about 2,000 feet above Soboba Road in San Jacinto, a Riverside County fire official said.

A rescue helicopter flew to the remote area when the incident was phoned in at 1:42 p.m. but the paraglider apparently died of his injuries, fire department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.
