Protester arrested today outside Border Patrol station in Murrieta

At least one protester has been arrested today outside the Border Patrol station in Murrieta. The protester was seen calmly walking towards a police squad car, as demonstrators both opposing and supporting the federal government’s recent migrant policies lined a rural road and shouted at each other.

Long sections of roadways near the Border Patrol station have been marked “no parking,” and both sides of the issue have been given assembly areas, but law enforcement officials have said a repeat of last week’s blockade of three buses, presumably carrying women and children, will not be allowed.

This is what is needed, arrest on both side of protest before it gets out of hand. I was surprised to see the agencies just standing there not doing anything about the protest and blockage of bus.

You are arresting the wrong people. Arrest those who came into this country illegally and who flaunt our laws while lining the pockets of drug cartels. It’s what the law demands and it’s your job, elected officials. Those who peacefully protest and who cooperate in the face of impending arrest are courageous and are heroes. God bless them for opposing tyrrany.

Assembly areas? Is that akin to free speech zones? F that!

And a repeat should not be allowed regarding blocking busses! While the anti-immigration protestors who block the buses scream about how its not the children and women on them that they hate but rather the breaking of the law, what do those protestors think they are doing, if not breaking the law, when they block the road? Come on! Get real. We have seen far too much hatred and selfishness and – yes – manipulation of many situations for the benefit of far rightwing ‘ideology’ by zealots. To frighten the children on those busses, interfere with the work of border patrol and other immigration officials, show such an attitude of mean-spiritedness is shameful. We can hardly celebrate today, America’s birthday, if we treat the least of us in such a despicable fashion. It is shameful.

The burning of an American flag by Mexicans on American soil and reading your post of appeasement is short sighted on your part. This is how wars start. Angela, you have chosen sides and the anger it represents will beget anger.
