The children of Oak Grove Center for Education & the Arts in Murrieta will be the beneficiaries of proceeds generated from the Rock-N-Glow 5K slated to begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at Galway Downs in Temecula.
This unique, evening run/walk event is part fitness event and part party where runners “chase the music” through a course lined with brightly-colored lights and music featuring the latest dance mixes. There will be plenty of surprises along the way as well. And when you’re done, there’s an after-party featuring local DJs spinning the latest hits, Glow Splashes, raffle prizes, beer garden, vendors and food and drink specials.
“What fuels people’s energy, do you like country, do you like rock, do you like EDM? Find out what music feeds you,” said event coordinator Denise Palma. “It is a way for people to come out and have some good clean fun, get fit, have a good time and donate to a charity.”
For the price of race registration, participants will get a Rock-N-Glow t-shirt, race bib, Glow Splash, and entry into the pre- and after-party.
“We are so grateful for the community support that helps provide resources for our at-risk and special needs children and youth to have a thriving arts program,” said Tammy Wilson, chief executive officer of Oak Grove Center. “Funds from the race will be used to support our arts program and help buy some iPads for use in our autism programs. We have a number of Oak Grove youth that are participating along with staff and we so hope that others will join us in making this a great event!”
