Four young adults were in custody today on suspicion of fatally shooting a man and a woman in San Jacinto.
Authorities developed information about the identities of the suspects involved in the Jan. 3 slayings of 19-year-old Lauren Lopez and 22-year-old Patrick Powell and made the arrests Tuesday following a pair of search warrants served at two residences in Hemet, said sheriff’s Sgt. Walter Mendez.
One of the homes was located in the 300 block of Monte Vista Way and the other was in the 100 block of La Amistad Way.
Authorities arrested 19-year-old Ariel Savoie, 18-year-old Kenneth Wilson, 18-year-old Martel Patrick McBride, and 19-year-old Alexis Mary Garcia on suspicion of murder, Mendez said.
Lopez and Powell were gunned down at 11:47 a.m., Jan. 3, on the Ramona Expressway at North Warren Road in San Jacinto.
The victims were found inside a bullet-riddled vehicle that crashed along the expressway. The victims were taken to a hospital, where they died.
The suspects are each being held on $1 million bail and are scheduled for arraignment Friday, Mendez said.
