SAN JACINTO: Fire contained near Ramona Expressway

SAN JACINTO – A brush fire broke out this afternoon along a four-lane corridor just north of San Jacinto, blackening about an acre before crews got it under control.

The non-injury blaze was reported at 3 p.m. in the area of Warren Road and Ramona Expressway, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and were able to stop the brusher’s forward rate of spread within minutes, according to a fire department spokeswoman. The fire was close to full containment by 3:30 p.m.

California Highway Patrol officers and sheriff’s deputies partially closed Warren and the Expressway in the vicinity of the fire to give crews room to maneuver equipment.
