Temecula Police officials arrested a 23-year-old woman for attempted murder after she repeatedly stabbed an acquaintance shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday evening, Jan. 30 at the Shogun Restaurant in the 41500 block of Margarita Road in Temecula.
Stephanie Frederico of Murrieta went to the restaurant and stabbed her 28-year-old female friend twice. Frederico’s acquaintance was there celebrating another friend’s birthday, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Report.
“The suspect reportedly traveled to the restaurant for the sole purpose of attacking the victim,” said Sgt. John Wade in the report.
After Frederico stabbed her acquaintance twice, she fled the scene but was stopped and detained by officers arriving to the emergency without incident, according to Wade.
The female victim’s stab-wounds were non-life-threatening and she was expected to survive after being transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Frederico was transported and booked at Southwest Station in Murrieta for attempted murder.
An investigation into the incident is still ongoing and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Detective Mejia at Southwest Sheriff’s Station at 951-696-3000.
