Temecula checkpoint results in 16 arrests

TEMECULA – Sixteen people were arrested during a driver’s license and sobriety checkpoint in Temecula, a sheriff’s sergeant said today, Sunday, Jan. 28.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department conducted the checkpoint between 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 a.m. this morning at Ynez Road and Dlr Drive, said Sgt. William Pratt.
Of the 1389 drivers who passed through the checkpoint, one person was arrested for intoxicated driving and 15 people were arrested for unlicensed driving, he said.
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
