TEMECULA – The 17th annual Community Christmas Dinner will be held Dec. 25, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Temecula Community Center at 28816 Pujol Street.
This completely free sit-down dinner is open to anyone in the community. The Community Christmas Dinner is unusual in its purpose of sharing dinner and community spirit on the holiday with young, old, rich or poor, individuals alone for the holiday, and those who just want a dose of great community spirit. The event is sponsored completely by community donations.
This year the committee is asking for cash donations of any kind, baked pies – bought or homemad , and the specialized help of meat carvers or de-boning experts to help with prepping the turkeys on Friday, Dec. 23 at 8 a.m. Volunteers can sign up by calling (909) 816-1204.
Last year, the dinner committee served nearly 1,626 Christmas dinners and they anticipate at a minimum 10 percent increase this year. The Community Christmas Dinner is a 501 c-3 organization. Anyone wishing to donate baked pies should call (951) 265-8557. Pie delivery should be on Friday, Dec. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Temecula Community Center, 28816 Pujol Street.
