Police arrested a 30-year-old Temecula man after he assaulted his mother shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday at a residence in the 31100 block of Tecumesh Court in Temecula, a Sheriff’s official reported today.
Aaron Paul Graves of Temecula allegedly assaulted his mother, who called police to report the incident. The officers arrived shortly after the call and attempted to make contact with Graves who fled to a bedroom within the home, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s report.
Graves eventually emerged from the room and proceeded to attack one of the officers inside the home. This resulted in a lengthy altercation before Graves’ eventual arrest, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Jon Wade.
Graves was placed under arrest and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment for injuries he sustained during the incident. The officers also sustained injuries during the incident and were transported to a local hospital for treatment, Wade said.
The injuries both Graves and the officers sustained were non-life threatening. Graves will be booked into the Southwest Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, being under the influence of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and violation of parole after being cleared from the hospital.
