The Temecula Valley Elks Lodge #2801 recently held its installation of officers for the coming year at the Temecula Community Center on Pujol Street. The new officers include Exalted Ruler Diane Farrens; Leading Knight Bob Farrens; Loyal Knight Gary Pangborn; Lecturing Knight Ed Offer; Esquire Bob Walker; Chaplain Bryan Barefield; Assistant Chaplain Howard Cunningham; Inner Guard Ken Patric; Tiler Howard Adkins; Secretary JoAnn Grant; Treasurer Marti Barraza; and Trustees Craig Stevanus, Vicki Puterbaugh, Keith Meyer, Mike Wisener and Ken Nordstrom.
The Lodge has been active in the Temecula Valley since before the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks instituted it as an official Lodge in March 1998. There are currently over 200 local members who raise funds for charitable donations to the Elks National Foundation, California-Hawaii Elks Major Projects, local scholarships, Middle School Americanism Essays, Middle School Outstanding Student Awards, youth sports and Special Olympics sports programs, as well as other programs.
Exalted Ruler Diane Farrens is looking forward to another great year supporting youth, veterans and disabled children’s programs. She has also set a priority on finding a suitable location to open a permanent Lodge in order to expand membership and support more community activities.
