TEMECULA: Woman killed after being struck by car

TEMECULA (CNS) – A 57-year-old woman who was sweeping up broken bottles in a Temecula intersection was struck and killed by a car today, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 1:06 a.m. in the area of Temecula Parkway and Butterfield Stage Road, according to Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department.

The woman died at the scene, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported. Her name was withheld, pending family notification.

“A female pedestrian had been sweeping up broken bottles in the intersection and was struck by a sedan traveling east,” a sheriff’s statement said.
