Two bodies found in suspicious house fire on Rice Canyon Road in Rainbow

Firefighters found two bodies after responding to and fighting a house fire in Rainbow in the early morning hours (today, Fri., July 18).

According to North County Fire public information officer John Buchanan, firefighters with the agency received a call about 12:33 a.m. this morning regarding a house fire in the 1900 block of Rice Canyon Road in Rainbow.

“When our guys got there, the house was pretty involved with fire,” said Buchanan. “The firefighters began to knock down the fire and found one body, then shortly after, found a second one.”

Buchanan said the house was approximately 1,800 square feet.

He went on to explain that when someone is found injured or dead in a structure, protocol is to call the Sheriff’s Dept. Bomb/Arson unit in to assist with the investigation.

“At this point, now the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit has been called in,” said Buchanan.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released by authorities.

According to Homicide Lt. Glenn Giannantonio, the cause and manner of death, as well as the identity of the victims, will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

makes sense. and why did Village News repost that article? the guy must have bailed out because he was out and about the town again not even a couple days later. And he seems like someone up to no good.

in the news its stated foul play as it should be. these people have lived in rainbow over 20 years and nothing until they decide to sell their home and to end their business. everything should be looked into especially who ever will benefit from their $710,000 home.

Can we get an update on the cause of this fire and the investigation. There is so much gossip and speculation to foul play it seems crazy to think there is no more information. I agree with comment #2, these people should be in jail but they are on the run and hiding. For those of u hiding them you should be ashamed of yourselves. You all need help!!

VILLAGE NEWS REPLIES – We have repeatedly tried to get updates from the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit who is investigating this. To date, we have been unable to get any further information. We will report out as soon as info is available, hopefully very soon. Thank you. —-D. Ramsey
