Two injured in head-on Wildomar crash

WILDOMAR – Two drivers were injured in a head-on crash that had firefighters cutting a woman out of her vehicle, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported today.
The crash happened at 3:15 p.m. Friday in the 20200 block of Grand Avenue in Wildomar, according to Sgt. Dan Ponder.
The vehicles, a 2010 silver Honda Civic and a 2013 black Lexus, were found blocking the southbound lanes of Grand Avenue. Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage in the wreck, Ponder said.
According to witness reports, the Lexus was heading southbound on Grand Avenue when it drifted into northbound traffic and hit the Honda.
The Honda’s driver, a woman from Oceanside, sustained multiple injuries in the crash and had to be extricated by Riverside County firefighters. She was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, according to the fire department’s
Jennifer Fuhrman.
The Lexus driver, a San Juan Capistrano man, sustained minor injuries and also was taken to a hospital.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are considered a factor in the crash, Ponder said.
