VIDEO: Bobcat makes unwelcome appearance in backyard of Wine Country home, is quickly captured

A bobcat that entered the backyard of a Temecula Valley Wine Country home and killed two chickens was captured by the Riverside County Department of Animal Services and quickly released to a more rural area, a spokesman for the department wrote.

Animal control officers were called out Monday morning, Oct. 23, to a home on Via Lobato to take custody of the bobcat, according to an email from spokesman John Welsh.

In a video shot by the home’s owners Officer Kyle Stevens can be seen using his control stick to get hold of the animal, dragging it away from a chicken coop and out of the yard.

The feisty critter was dropped off about a half a mile away from the home.
