Wind advisory issued for Riverside and San Diego Counties

SAN BERNARDINO AND RIVERSIDE COUNTY VALLEYS-THE INLAND EMPIRE-SAN DIEGO COUNTY VALLEYS-RIVERSIDE COUNTY MOUNTAINS-SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS-SAN DIEGO COUNTY MOUNTAINS-A wind advisory in effect from midnight tonight until noon on Monday was issued by the National Weather Service in San Diego. Winds northeast to east 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35 to 45 mph are expected with isolated gusts in excess of 50 mph in the favored canyons and coastal mountain slopes, including below the Cajon and Banning Passes in the Inland Empire, the Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, and along the coastal slopes and adjacent Inland Valleys in the San Diego County.

Visibility could be reduced as a result of blowing dust.

Gusty winds may make travel difficult for high profile vehicles, strong cross winds may make travel especially hazardous along portions of Interstate 10 and highways 210…60…91…71…and 79 in the Inland Empire.
