With the spring sports season right around the corner and with the fact that baseball is one of the most dominating sports in the Valley, it only makes sense to get an early start if you want your player to excel. There are plenty of options out there for leagues, but when it comes to the off-season, preparation is key.
For all sixth, seventh, and eighth graders in the Valley, the Chaparral baseball program will be holding a free baseball camp at the end of December. They would like all who are interested to come out and learn the fundamentals of hitting, pitching, fielding, as well as base running. The biggest aspect that they are promoting is the fact that the kids will have fun doing it.
The camp will be held on Friday, Dec. 28, at Chaparral High School from 9 a.m. to noon and coach Steve Dolias, who is currently with the Chaparral Pumas program and who is also a former player that was with the San Diego Padres organization, will be speaking about preparing your player for the high school level at the end of the camp from about 11:30 a.m. to noon.
“Most parents don’t fully understand the high school process,” said Dolias, who added, “The importance of academics and the developmental process of learning to play on the big field are crucial elements of the game. This camp and the many that we are looking at holding in the months to come are going to be extremely beneficial to those players that take the game seriously.”

Vista Murrieta is also holding their Stampede Winter Youth Baseball Camp, which is a three-day baseball camp in December starting on Dec. 26. The cost of the camp is $140 per player and takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. all three days.
Registration will take place on the first day of camp from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the varsity baseball fields located at Vista Murrieta High School. Those in charge of the camp are asking that completed registration forms be filled out in their entirety accompanied by each attendee’s cash payment only. Checks cannot be accepted. All questions can be directed to the Head Baseball Coach at Vista Murrieta, Mat Mosiello –
