CORONA – A stretch of the 91 Freeway in Corona will be closed on a nightly basis this week as crews remove a temporary support structure from the Maple Street Bridge, as part of the Riverside County Transportation Commission’s 91 Project.
The eastbound 91 will be closed at Maple Street from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Monday night and continuing through Thursday morning, according to the RCTC.
Two detours will be available for motorists: drivers can exit Maple Street and reenter the 91 from the Paseo Grande on-ramp, or they can follow Sixth Street to El Sobrante Road, head south to Magnolia Avenue, and head east to get onto the northbound 15 Freeway where they can reconnect with the 91.
The westbound 91 will be closed at Maple Street from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 11:59 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
A detour will be available where motorists can exit Maple Street and head north on Pomona Road to re-enter the 91.
Officials ask that drivers follow detour signs, and avoid the area if possible.
