SUNDAY, AUG. 20, 4:30 p.m.

SAN JACINTO – One person was killed and two people were injured today in a three-car pileup in San Jacinto.

The crash occurred just before 1:40 p.m. at Sanderson Avenue south of Gilman Springs Road, said Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department.

California Highway Patrol officers who first arrived at the scene reported that two of the vehicles involved were on fire.

Two victims were also trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by firefighters, Cabral said.

Two people with serious injuries and one with minor injuries were hospitalized, according to Cabral. One of those people later died.

SAN JACINTO – Three people were injured Sunday, Aug. 20, in a three-car pileup in San Jacinto.

The crash occurred just before 1:40 p.m. at Sanderson Avenue south of Gilman Springs Road, said Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department.
